One way to make your content ultra professional is by perfecting the transitions. Learn how to make stinger transitions for your streams here!

If you’re an avid streamer on Twitch, you’ll want your content to stand out from everyone else’s. Creating professional looking streams is one of the best ways to do this. There is a lot of competition out there, after all, and you’ve got to put your best foot forward.

The key to unlocking a lucrative Twitch career is to become an affiliate, and then a partner. This all relies on things like watch time, viewers, and followers. Boosting these things can only really be done by consistently providing high quality streams.

Just like transition sound effects and audio stingers are important for YouTube videos or podcast productions, visual stingers will elevate Twitch streams. Stingers look inherently slick, especially if they’re custom ones. This gives you visuals that will become instantly recognisable to your viewers, bolstering your presence online.

Creating your own custom stingers doesn’t have to take ages or be really difficult. Here’s how to make stinger transitions quickly and easily!

How to Make Stinger Transitions

The video below, by Streamloots, uses Sony Vegas Pro to create custom stingers. If you don’t have this, there are plenty of video editing software alternatives out there.

This step-by-step guide can be followed by complete beginners, so don’t worry if you’ve never tried anything like this before!

Creating

You need to pick some colours that you both like, and fit the rest of your online presence. Also, keep in mind that stingers are short and snappy, so the length needs to be kept down. By playing with the positioning of masks, you can create some cool wiping effects, that will work as the foundation for your stinger.

If you have a logo, you can add it in after the wipe effect, which looks super professional and reinforces your own brand as a streamer. If you don’t, you can quickly make your own logo using DesignEvo. You can add any sort of elements you like, though. To bookend your stinger, you can do everything you did it at the start and simply reverse it. This helps the animation feel satisfyingly complete.

This might take a bit of time to get to grips with first time. But, once you get the basics and feel more comfortable, you’ll be able to play with new ideas and get quick at firing out awesome stinger transitions.

Rendering

The crucial final step in how to make a stinger transition is the rendering. Using OBS, you can render by simply heading to the option that says Edit Scene Transition, then hit Add Transition. Select Stinger from the dropdown menu, then browse to find the animation you just created.

Then, you need to figure out at which point you would like your stinger to appear. Once you’ve figured out the timing, enter it into the Transition Point field. This may take a bit of experimentation, but once you find the perfect point, you can hit Done.
