If you are a Twitch partner then you are one of an exclusive few who make up the world of the most popular game streamers. Find out what it takes to become one here!

What is a Twitch Partner?

You can begin earning money through Twitch streaming by becoming an affiliate. If you’re not sure what a Twitch affiliate is then you can check out our article here! However, the earning potential really steps up when you become a Twitch partner. You can monetise your content and earn a share of all the revenue generated by your broadcasts. Also, you have the option to enable the channel subscription feature. This means that you can charge users a monthly subscription fee in return for access to special perks. These cool perks include:

  • Custom Chat Badges
  • Custom Emoticons
  • Access to Subscriber-Only Chat
  • Exclusion from Slow Mode
  • Unrestricted Access to Broadcast Archives
  • Unrestricted Access to Video Quality
  • Ad-Free Viewing Experience

How to Become a Twitch Partner

In order to apply to become a Twitch partner, you can either complete the Path to Partner Achievement or demonstrate large, engaged viewership/following on other services. The Path to Partner Achievement process can be a helpful, guided method of applying for partnership though. Once you complete this, you will unlock a button on your dashboard to apply for partnership and your application will be on priority for review. It is worth noting that completing these achievements is the minimum required for partnership, and completing them does not guarantee you partnership. Including a bit of information relating to your channel and what it is all about is a great way to support your application. Also, linking to any social media accounts you may have won’t hurt either!

Once you have sent off your application, it can take between 2 – 4 weeks to be reviewed, or 7 business days if done through the Path to Partner Achievement programme. This is because all applications are reviewed on an individual basis. You’re probably starting to see now why being a partner is like being part of an exclusive club, right?
