Female content creators are brilliant 365 days of the year, but International Women’s Day is the time to highlight this. Check out these awesome ladies of YouTube!

Jenna Marbles

Jenna Nicole Mourey dominates as the owner of the most popular female run channel on YouTube. Starting out in 2010, her video “How To Trick People Into Thinking You’re Good Looking” racked up over 5.3 millions views in its first week. It is this kind of tongue in cheek humour that has secured her popularity, with her video “How To Avoid Talking To People You Don’t Want To Talk To” being featured in The New York Times. The name “Marbles” comes from Jenna’s dog, Mr. Marbles. Even her dog has 19m subscribers on his very own channel.

Liza Koshy

Beginning her career on the now extinct short form video platform Vine, Liza Koshy moved over to YouTube in 2013. In a relatively short space of time, Liza has accumulated a massive following for her charming and incredibly funny videos. In 2016 at the age of just 21, she interviewed US president Barack Obama on her channel to encourage voter registration. Liza also stars in her very own YouTube Original series, Liza On Demand.

Lilly Singh

Formerly known on YouTube as IISuperwomanII, Lilly Singh began her career in 2010. Named by Forbes as one of the 40 most powerful people in comedy in 2019, she now hosts the NBC late night talk show, A Little Late With Lilly Singh. Singh is the first person of Indian descent to host an American major-broadcast late night show, and embraces her Punjabi heritage on her channel.

Wengie

The multitalented Wen Jie Huang (aka Wengie) is a vlogger, pop singer and voice actress. She is popular for her fashion and makeup DIY videos, along with her pranks. Zoella

Initially a blogger, Zoë Sugg (aka Zoella) has been posting videos to her channel since 2009, and is now also an author and businesswoman. Zoella predominantly creates fashion and beauty videos, however a range of content can be found across her channel. In 2017, she released her first book, Girl Online.
